Popes Island Commercial / Restaurant

New Bedford, MA
Scope: Schematic Design through Construction Administration.

Completion Date: June 2009

Project Description:
An existing structure was demolished to make way for a new commercial building. The structure designed to fit on the existing foundation. The new building takes advantage of the waterfront site as well as the excellent visibility from a major route. The new structure was to accommodate a retail shop and a restaurant. The classic New England architecture fits well in the existing waterfront location. Construction was fast-track, utilizing panelized wall construction and a roof truss system. Stephen Kelleher Architects, Inc. was responsible for the architectural and structural design, and construction administration of the building and the tenant spaces. Tenant fit-out was by owner.
